Manava Bharati School:Diwali Celebrations with folk dance competition


Dehradun: The month of October marks the beginning of celebrations and festivals in India. Colours, shopping, enthusiasm and feeling festive is what everybody’s mind and soul has.  Somewhat the same could also be felt amongst the students and teachers of our school.   MANAVA BHARATI INDIA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL  organised a series of competitions on 16 -17 of October in order to celebrate Diwali.

An Inter House Folk Dance Competition was held on 17 October 2017. The students of Vikramshila House Performed Kalbelia, the folk dance of Rajasthan on the song “Banno re baaga ma jhualadalo”

Kalbelia is one of the most  sensous dance forms of Rajasthan, performed by a tribe of the same name. They are famous for their dance which is an integral part of their culture. Both men and their women in the tribe participate in this activity to celebrate joyful occasions.

The students were all dressed up in their colourful attires. They danced with the best  of their spirit and charm. The mentors for the dance were Ms RupalDangwal and Ms. Shikha Yadav. The overall coordination was done by Dr Farah samir , the House Misteress. The participants were -1.Yograj Maldiya   2. Shreya Bhatt 3. Isha 4. Khushi  5. Pooja 6. Niharika  7. Sauhadri  8. SakshiRana  9. Ankita 10. Ashmit Rana. The results of the competition were as follows- First Position-VIKRAMSHILA  HOUSE, Second Position-PANCHSHILA  HOUSE, Third Position-NALANDA HOUSE
